HIPAA Compliance: Charleston Orthopedic is HIPAA compliant and only uses a patient's medical, personal, and/or insurance information in order to provide services in cooperation with physicians, physical therapists, insurance companies, and governmental agencies. Insurance Billing: We offer a professional insurance billing service as a courtesy to our patients. We cannot guarantee that your insurance, if any, will make payment for services rendered. Deductibles, co-payments, exclusions of coverage, medical necessity, prior authorizations, and effective policy dates apply. Medicare, like other major insurances, does not pay 100% of charges. The patient is responsible for any and all remaining balances due 60 days after the date of service.

Uncovered Items: Although all insurance plans are unique, most insurances do not cover shoes and accessories unless the patient is a diabetic. Brace repairs are also covered under limited circumstances.

Care Credit Plan: We offer financing to every patient with a very high approval rate. Terms include 12 months same-as-cash and extended payment plans with a reasonable interest rate. This is very advantageous for patients with high insurance deductibles or no insurance.

Return Policy: Custom appliances, repairs, and/or hygienic items are non-returnable and non-refundable. Charleston Orthopedic will make every effort to make adjustments, within 90 days, as deemed medically necessary by the certified orthotist and/or physician at little or no extra cost. Alterations, tampering, or any other changes to the appliance made by anyone other than Charleston Orthopedic personnel will nullify all warranties.

Patient Receipt: We encourage professional fitting of each and every appliance by one of our certified personnel. An appointment is not necessary but is encouraged. Because custom fabricated appliances are manufactured specifically for a particular patient, failure to accept delivery in person will result in shipment directly to the patient and insurance will be billed accordingly.
